A season opener that couldn't have been nicer. The Girls Shred Session in Obergurgl was sold out. Motivated girls were looking forward to the girly progression format again after a long break. "It's my first time here at this event and I think it's awesome. All the girls are in a good mood and I'm having a great time," raves snowboarder Fatima. At 9:00 a.m. the girls arrived at the Familypark Obergurgl, where the vibes were good from the start. To start the sessions in a good shape, they started with a warm-up coached by Lisi Gram (Freeski) and Mary Steiner (Snowboard).
So many smiling faces. Even if you couldn't see it under the masks, the girls were motivated and smiling all over the place. The beginner senderellas started with their first attempts on the dance floor box, before moving on to the advanced features. "Some girls did some tricks, like boardslide front 180 out over the tube and made some pretty solid progression. It's so nice to see how much progress you can see in such a short period of time! " - commented coach Mary Steiner happily. For lunch, they went to the Hohe Mut, where they recharged their batteries for the second session. "It's so beautiful there, the weather is good, the coaches are amazing, and I was able to learn a lot for myself," says rider Vera, describing the sessions while she was hiking in the park.
After the coaching traditional goodies by QParks, Golden Ride & Boardriding were handed out next to an organized raffle hat which included prices from Blue Tomato & Boardriding.
See you next year when it's time for #girlsownthepark all over again!
