Rookies own the park - SNOWHOW Kids’ Day at the Familypark Obergurgl
19.02.2019

Early practice makes perfect! Twelve young freeskiers and snowboarders took up this challenge and worked on their first jumps and slides at the SNOWHOW Kids' Day in Obergurgl. But most importantly the joy of freestyle was always in the foreground.

The coaching couldn’t have started any better: A bright blue sky stretched over the Diamond of the Alps as the rookies set off on their way to the Familypark Obergurgl. The park got polished by the #diamondgirlscrew and offered a perfect setup including butter boxes, rainbow boxes and smaller kickers for the young shredders to make their first steps in freestyle. But before the coaching could start, the park rules had to be discussed.

First, the coaches Raphael and Juggi started with a small workout. Only with warmed up joints, the first slides over boxes could be tackled. After a few runs, the ten freeskiers and two snowboarders were able to overcome all boxes and showed even more and more tricks on their snowboards and twintips. The kids mastered the first coaching session with flying colors and were rewarded with a delicious lunch at the Hohe Mut Alm.

Motivated and strengthened, our shredders made their way to the second coaching. At this session, jumps over kickers with a table length of 2 - 3 meters were practiced. The progression couldn’t be overlooked after the extensive training and the two coaches were more than satisfied with the rookies' park skills. At the end each participant got a well-deserved certificate and a goodie bag from QParks.
